Have you created your Instagram Business Profile?

Some of you eagle eyed people may have noticed changes on Instagram lately especially when viewing profiles. A new “Contact” button has appeared on some profiles that when clicked can give you the options to Call, Email or Get Directions. But where did this button come from and how do you get it for your profile?.

This is Instagram’s business profiles, it’s a new feature being slowly rolled out and may not be available to everyone just now but it will be in the future.

How do you get a business profile? Open the Instagram app and view your profile then follow these steps:

1. Go to your profile and tap  in iOS or  in Android.
2. Scroll down and tap Switch to Business Profile.
3. On the Connect Your Facebook Page screen, you’ll see all of the Facebook Pages you’re currently an admin on. Select the Page you’d like to associate with your Business Profile on Instagram.
4. On the Set Up Your Business Profile page, review your business’s contact information, make any changes and tap Done.

Once completed you’ll have the Contact button on your profile but you’ll also have access to Insights which gives you analytics on your profile.

Points to note here is that this will convert your profile to an Instagram Business Profile so if you’ve been mixing your personal and business in the one account now might the time to consider splitting them out into 2 accounts leaving the current account with followers as your business account.

Also this links your new Instagram business profile with your facebook page, so again if you’ve been using a personal profile on facebook for your business you’ll need to change it.
